Sprouted green gram curry (Mooga ghasi)


Recipe Type : Indian                 Yield : 4
Preparation Time : 10 mins     Cooking Time : 20 mins

Ingredients:
200g of sprouted green gram
100g of elephant foot yam (suran)
1/2 cup of grated coconut
5 Byadagi chilies
1 tsp of salt
3 cups of water
1/2 tsp of cumin seeds
6 curry leaves
2 tsp of oil
1 tsp of mustard seeds
1/4 tsp of tamarind paste

Method:
For masala: Grind coconut, tamarind paste and byadagi chilies with little water. Make a fine paste.

1. Heat a sauce pan. Add oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves for tempering.
2. Now put sprouted green gram, salt, 2 cups of water and yam. Cook for 10 mins.
3. Add ground masala and one cup of water. Mix well and allow to cook for 7 mins.
