Jeera Rice and Dal Fry

Preparation Time : 10 mins                                                                 Cooking Time : 25 mins

For dal fry
Ingredients :
1 cup toor dal
2 tbsp clarified butter
3 garlic pods (chopped)
1 onion
1 tomato
1/4 tsp garam masala
2 green chilies
1/2 tsp chilly powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
water
salt
coriander leaves

Method :
1. In a pressure cooker add water, and toor dal. Cook for 4 whistles. Keep aside.
2. Heat a pan. Add clarified butter. Sprinkle cumin seeds. Cook for few seconds.
3. Put chopped onion and garlic pods. Fry until transparent.
4. Add chopped tomato. Fry for 2 mins.
5. Sprinkle salt, chilly powder, garam masala, and turmeric powder. Mix well.
6. Pour cooked toor dal and water. Cook for 5 mins.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves.


Jeera rice

Ingredients :
1 cup basmati rice (soaked for 20 mins)
2 cups water
salt
1 green chilly
1 tbsp clarified butter
1 tsp cumins seeds
1 small cinnamon stick

Method :
1. Heat a pan. Add clarified butter, slit opened green chilly, cumin seeds and cinnamon stick. Fry for few seconds.
2. Add soaked basmati rice, salt and water. Cook until rice is done.
