Karkala Cake or Wheat Flour Halwa



Recipe Type: Indian                                                                          Yield: 4
Preparation Time: 5 mins                                                                 Cook time : 1 hour

Ingredients:
1 cup of wheat flour
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of water
1 tsp cardamom powder
1/4 cup of dry fruits (cashew, Almond)
1/2 cup of ghee (clarified butter)

Method:
1. Heat a pan and set it to low flame. Fry wheat flour along with 1/4 cup of clarified butter.
2. Fry till wheat flour becomes light brown.
3. In a separate pan fry dry fruits using little ghee (for 2 mins).
4. Now add water to the wheat flour pan. Mix well. Remove all lumps.
5. Put dry fruits, cardamom powder, remaining ghee and Sugar.
6. Fry for 40 mins or until wheat flour sheds/leaves ghee.
