Ingredients :
1 and 1/4 cup of fresh green peas
1 onion
2 green chilies
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp chilly powder
2 tsp sesame seeds
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1/4 tsp garam masala
5 curry leaves
1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
1 cup oil
2 cups wheat flour
3/4 cup water
2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
Method:
For Stuffing:
1. Heat a pan. Pour 2 tsp oil.
2. Put cumin seeds, fennel seeds, sesame seeds and curry leaves.
3. Now add chopped onion. Cook for 3 mins.
4. Add mashed green peas, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar and chopped chilies. Fry for 5 mins.
5. Now add spices (chilly powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and asafoetida) and chopped coriander leaves. Fry for 5 mins.
Outer cover:
1. In a bowl add wheat flour, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp oil and water. Mix well.
2. Form a hard dough. Keep it aside for 10 mins.
3. Make 10 balls from the dough.
4. Using rolling pin roll out the dough balls into round chapati shape.
5. Put one spoonful of stuffing at the center of each chapati, and close from all sides to make a ball or any shapes.
7. Deep fry each stuffed ball on a low flame.
8. Serve with chutney or tomato sauce.
